Happy 4th of July!!!

What another super fun-filled week here in Huntsville, Alabama! We received transfer news this week and my companion will be leaving Huntsville and I will be staying!! It is going to be another super awesome six weeks!

We also celebrated the 4th of July this past week and that was a whole bunch of fun. A family who lives in an English ward here in the Huntsville area invited us over for 4th of July lunch and fun. The cool thing about this family is that they and their ancestors have lived in this house in Huntsville since the early 1800’s! This house has seen it all! It is in an area in town that they call the “Twickenham Old Town Historic District” and every house has a plaque out in front of it describing who lives there and how old the house is.

It was an awesome experience spending the 4th of July with them. We arrived and had some wonderful American food and then went out on the front lawn and had a little croquet tournament! It was so much fun! After that whole event we went over to our Branch President’s home and he took us out for 4th of July dinner. After enjoying dinner with him we all jumped in the car and drove over to a parking lot overlooking the U.S. Space and Rocket Center here in Huntsville where we enjoyed a fireworks show! Unfortunately, it was raining during the whole performance so we had to stay in the car, but it was still a super fun activity, nonetheless. I am so grateful to live in America, the greatest nation in the world! I am so grateful for all of the freedoms we enjoy here in this country and what wonderful opportunities we have. Go America! I love and miss everybody back home and hope you have an amazing week!
