Free at last!

“Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty [I am] free at last!”- Martin Luther King Jr. I got my cast off this week!! This last Wednesday, I went to the doctor’s office and for the first time in about 5 months I will be walking the streets with no cast on! It made my whole week!

And that was not the only exciting thing that happened this week. Thursday night was crazy because we had a tornado threat here in Alabama! We were at a member’s house when we were told about it so we had to hunker down at their home for the evening. Thankfully, no missionaries were hurt and there wasn’t much damage done as far as I know.

General Conference was so great! I especially liked Elder Hallstrom’s talk about remembering our identity as children of God. What a cool thought that is! It really puts into perspective how we should act and treat each other. In fact, all of the talks were superb.

It is so great to have a Prophet who speaks to us on the earth today. To illustrate the importance of a prophet on the earth, Elder Ballard in his book entitled “Our Search for Happiness” says, “If Moses were on the earth today, would you want to hear what he had to say?” What a great line that is! This past weekend, we were able to hear from a prophet of God, President Monson, who holds all the same power and authority that Moses did back in his day. We quoted this line from Elder Ballard’s book with investigators this past week and people loved it! I am so grateful to have a Prophet on the earth today and to be able to follow the guidance he gives. I love and miss everyone back home and hope you have a great week!
